I’ve had this compact fryer for about a month and it has been great. Before I purchased it I did read the reviews and so far can only understand one of the complaints. A few folks complained about the cover coming off during the cooking process when you open and close the cover. This did happen a couple of times but I figured out that you need to do a quick open and a quick close because the cover only detaches when it is at a 45 degree angle, so if you close the cover slowly you tend to pull off the cover when it hits that 45 degree angle. I find it heats up pretty quickly, holds the heat nicely and cooks evenly. I just did the complete cleaning of the fryer and it cleaned up like brand new. I use this compact fryer when cooking for my wife and I and fire up my larger unit when we have guests over.
