I finally used the deep fryer and it's not bad. It takes a little bit of a learning curve to learn the right heat setting and batter consistency but overall not bad.

I have used this several times. The title says compact and that says it all. There are just 2 of us so it works fine for us. It has a heat indicator light that tells you when it’s hot enough to start. I occasionally don’t use the basket when I have a larger item to fry. It’s a great item, small and easy to store.

The lid is a bit floppy and cheap, but it works. The lid is needed because water condensation from frying potatoes. The thing is a right handed user friendly. The unit is knotched for right handed person.
