Cheaply made junk

In one year we went through 3 of these pieces of junk. First one lasted only 3 weeks before some relay inside quit and it started clicking and flashing on-and-off every few seconds, exchanged it for another at the store. The next one lasted almost six months before a similar failure, exchanged it again for a 3rd. This one just quit after 4 months. These were all used in a clean dry kitchen with modern wiring, never submerged or treated in anyway that should lead to failure. In additional to being a poorly made waste of money the blue display is stupidly bright, it illuminates the whole kitchen at night which is fine if you like that sort of thing but I didn't.

Got this for Christmas & love it. As someone who works night shift, coffee is vital to survival! I like how the water level is visible from the side of the coffee pot, makes it easier to fill than in previous models. No water leaking from bottom either like my previous model which was the 12 cup. I love being able to set the timer & wake up to coffee & also the auto shut off. Be aware you should change the water filter every 2 months, but they are not expensive. So far, very pleased!

Has a larger carafe and is exactly what I needed. With this feature I am able to have enough coffee for all without having to make a 2nd pot of coffee.

The rim on my 14 cup carafe drips and makes a mess. Just under the pouring lip is what appears to be a crack, or possibly an expansion seam. I can't tell if the coffee drip is coming from there, but it seems like it. Also when washing the carafe, rinse water appears to drip from the plastic rim all around. The coffeemaker itself is fine.

Have used this everyday for 3 weeks and like it a lot. Have used the "medium" setting for the hot plate and it keeps the coffee plenty hot for our coffee with cream. Have only tried the reusable gold filter once and went back to the paper cone filters for coffee with less grounds. Not a fan of the lid on the carafe since you have to remove it to clean out the pot. Would prefer a hinged lid but the carafe itself is quite substantial - large and sturdy. As with many coffeemakers that open at the top, it doesn't fit well in our small kitchen where I have it under the cabinet and have to slide it out to fill and brew.
