Cuisinart Coffee Makers are the Best!

We have had other coffeemakers in the past, but we have found that Cusinart coffee makers are the most reliable. We have a 12 cup Cuisinart coffee maker that still works but we saw the 14 cup coffee maker and decided to purchase it for when we have company. Love Cuisinart coffee makers!

Good coffee

Rate four due to the cheap snap on and off carafe lid and the fact that the pot cannot be under a cabinet. It uses more ground coffee for the same amount of cups as our old put. It looks good and the coffee is good. I do like the three temp levels too.

Didn't last long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have enjoyed this coffee maker for a few+ years, but in the past 2 years, the plastic basket does not seem to be working properly. As someone else reported/reviewed a few days ago, during brewing, the basket fills with water faster than it is emptying down into the carafe. Therefore the water and grinds spill over the top of the filter basket into coffee pot. If I make less coffee, like 8 cups instead of 12-14 cups, it does not spill over top of filter in basket, but still filters through slowly. Is this a problem with the cuisinart basket spring on the bottom? Should i try a new basket or just get a new coffee maker?

We're sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your coffee maker after years of use. If brewing is slowing and the filter basket is overflowing, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the basket assembly and checking that the spring mechanism on the bottom of the basket move freely and are not obstructed by coffee oils or debris. While our products carry a generous limited 3-year warranty, your unit may no longer be covered; however, we encourage you to contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 so we can check warranty eligibility, assist with troubleshooting, and help identify available replacement parts if needed. Thank you for sharing your feedback—your comments are valuable to us and help us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

Not the best designed carafe!

Overall, this this coffeemaker has some very positive features and makes good coffee; however, the very poorly designed carafe is a deal breaker. Rather than a one-piece all glass carafe it's made with a plastic rim around the perimeter of the top. The plastic rim is attached to the glass in such a way that there's a thick "rim" on the inside top of the carafe that traps and collects water between the glass and plastic. It never dries and is almost impossible to dry with a dishtowel. Under these circumstances the possibility of bacteria collecting in the same way seems likely. Also poorly designed is the handle of the carafe. The handle, while comfortable, is hollow and because it lacks adequate drainage allows water to fill and leak after washing. Finally, though not as much of a problem but certainly inconvenient is the design of the carafe's lid that snaps into place, but not the easiest to remove.

We're sorry to hear that, while you are enjoying the coffee maker's brewing performance, the carafe design has not met your expectations. To help minimize retained moisture, we recommend removing the lid after washing and allowing all components to air dry completely before reassembly, as well as storing the carafe uncovered when not in use. We appreciate your detailed observations regarding the carafe rim, handle, and lid design and will share this feedback with our product team. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience—your comments are valuable and help us identify opportunities to improve future products and the overall consumer experience.

My old Cuisinart 14 Cup was leaking during brewing and we couldn’t fix it. So finally replaced with the exact same pot ~ just an updated version. Love it still!

Cuisinart has always had the best brewer. I love the 4 hour shutoff. Never a bitter cup of coffee.
