The coffee maker itself works fine. I like the added notifications for decalcification and filter change. However, the carafe leaks from the spout because it does not fit tightly. I have to pour my coffee over the sink to avoid a mess. Also, the cover over the water tank is so big, it is difficult to empty the whole carafe full of water into it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For years, I have been purchasing this same style Cuisinart 14 cup programmable coffeemaker...I know what I like. It not only gets a lot of daily use in my house, but I host monthly and holiday parties. The 14 cup fills my hosting carafe and buys me time to brew the next pot. The coffee drinkers have me making several brews during the parties. Before I purchased my first one, I did my research but the best test is to try it. My coffee doesn't taste like plastic and the temperature controlled warming plate reduces bitterness. I get a strong, clean brew every time. I have several ways to brew coffee but this machine is my morning and party go-to for the volume and programmable convenience. 4 Stars this time because the coffee carafe handle is crooked. I would like to see Cuisinart begin to remove as many plastic components as possible while still giving the convenience of a programmable drip coffee maker.

I love this coffee maker! I keep replacing the old ones with the same model. The last one lasted for four years, and still worked fine with the exception of the heating plate. Only subtle changes were made over the years, which have just made it better, and that much more loved.

Noisy while brewing the coffee. The alarm tone isn't working properly. You can barely hear the beeping.

We love our Cuisinart coffeemaker. Only one issue and that is that you have to hold the pot perfectly straight when pouring out coffee or it will drop outside of the pot.
