This is a great programable coffee maker. This the 3rd one I have bought. After 7 years the hot plate wore out and I needed a new one. Didn't think twice or shop just picked up a new. I also have one in our vacation home.

I recently purchased the 14 cup Cuisinart coffee maker and it is a solid choice and makes a good cup of coffee. I bought the white version trying to avoid black plastic only to come to find out that the brew basket is black plastic! According to the experts the best coffee brewing temperature is 195-205 degrees. So far we have only hit 187 degrees, while close not quite in the ideal zone. For the price, it really does a good job. I'd love to see a plastic free coffee maker. Currently the only ones on the market are pour over styles or really expensive makers. Maybe one day!!

The coffee maker was excellent with all the options of heat and strength to make the coffee. I am very happy with my choice. The machine worked flawless with the programming time and the coffee indicator on the side made making a pot with the correct cups very easy along with the measuring cup. It will be interesting to use the 1-4 cups when I do not need to make that much.

We purchased based on the Consumer Reports high ratings. Overall we have not been happy and may go back to our previous coffee maker. First, whenever we pour from the carafe, there is always spillage. It is an exciting day if we can keep the counter free of a puddle of water or coffee. Next, the LED display, while informative, is very bright. There is no way to adjust its brightness other than unplugging the coffee maker, which we do each night. Flavor-wise, it is a bit smoother but seems to lack a sharp coffee flavor that I am used to. We have found more coffee is needed to get flavor, even when using the Bold or 1-4 Cup settings. Size-wise, it is typical and can fit on our counter and under a cabinet. Based on the Consumer Reports review we had higher expectations in terms of its engineering and flavor, but we will just have to live with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
