My 12-cup Cuisinart stopped working after a couple of years of making 6 cups per day and occasionally 10-12 when I had guests. So I decided to get the 14 cup Coffeemaker because I noticed when I wanted 12 cups the 12-cup Coffeemaker would allow the coffee in the hopper to overflow. However, I noticed that the hopper in the 14-cup Coffeemaker is really no bigger than the 12-cup's hopper. You can't call it a 14-cup Coffeemaker if you can't make 14 cups! If you put in the correct amount of coffee using the scoop provided by Cuisinart the coffee overflows in the hopper and you get grounds in your coffee. If I want to make 14 cups when family or friends are visiting, which is often, then I have to make two pots. But wait a minute...I don't have two pots! After years of buying Cuisinart products, I think you may have lost a loyal customer.
I've been very happy with this coffee pot. Easy to use. I love the the temperature control on the warmer. Coffe tastes so much better than my last one...I think it's the charcoal filter!
Tried this coffeemaker for 4 days then went back to my old 12 cup Cuisinart. It can't be that hard to get this thing to work properly! Have use 12 cup fr 8 yrs, so I'm not a rookie at this. Overflowed almost every time except the cleaning cycle which I had to run repeatedly. On the verge of sending it back but give it one more try before junking it!
I purchased this coffee maker to replace an older model of basically this same unit and brand. The old one served faithfully for some years. The new unit has some nice upgrades like the “bold” feature, great for those like myself who like their coffee stronger tasting.
The lid should have a hinge so one does not have to take it off and on to fill it and empty or rinse it out. The opening to pour in the water is awkwardly situated making it impossible to empty the whole carafe into the water well.
The PerfecTemp 14 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker really lives up to its name. I love the fact that the coffee is brewed hot enough so that I’m not running to the microwave to reheat as I have had to do with other coffeemakers.
