We bought this coffeemaker about a month ago and have been very pleased. Using the same amount of coffee, the results are much more robust than with our previous Mr. Coffee. And having two extra cups is a great feature, especially on the weekends when we have more time to enjoy. It looks beautiful on our countertop and is easy to clean. The only negatives are that the top of the carafe does not open (you have to remove it) and pouring water in the reservoir requires some gymnastics.
Overall I am pleased with the coffee maker. Little things, like the little "chime" when the coffee is done and when the coffee maker turns off are very pleasant. Big things, like a quality cup of coffee from a quality BPA-free coffee maker, and the ability to unplug the coffee maker and plug it in somewhere else without losing the settings are greatly appreciated. The one negative is the fit of the coffee filter "holder." I have to push it into place; it doesn't fit into place unless it is pushed. The problem is that if it is not in place the water/coffee backs up during the brewing process, filling the filter. I was only making 2 cups of coffee so it didn't overflow. My concern is that the coffee could overflow if I was brewing more than 2 cups. I am very mindful of pushing the filter in, but I am concerned that others in my family or guests would not be aware of this or not remember to do this. Coffee spilling onto the counter, front of cabinets, and floor would create a big mess and the chairs by the counter could be stained by the coffee.
I am very happy with my new coffee maker. It brews a great pot of coffee and is easy to use. I especially love that I can keep the brewed coffee hot for up to 4 hours.
I received this as a gift from my sons for our anniversary. It is very nice looking, makes great coffee and stays hot for hours . Love the programmable options too!
I like this coffeemaker a lot because of several reasons: the controls are easy to work (I can set the timer and change it without having to consult the manual), buttons are big, and the water reservoir and carafe register the same amount of water (meaning, if I pour six cups of water in the reservoir, according to the measuring scale on the coffee maker's side, that's what I get in the carafe, according to the scale on the glass). In the looks department, it's a beauty, and it's also very easy to clean. In short, I am thoroughly satisfied with this appliance, which happens to be my second Cuisinart purchase (the other is a counter top toaster oven that I love).
I've owned Cuisinart coffee makers for years. I typically buy the "average" model without lots of bells and whistles (just need the basics!). This one by far has been my favorite. Easy to use, easy to program, and coffee is perfect every time! The only suggestion I would make is that there be a column control for the tone (for when the coffee is done). You can turn it on or off. "On" is very loud! Wish there was a way to turn it down and not just off.
