This is my second of the same coffee maker in 4 years and I’m a big fan, despite having to replace the first one. (It was my fault for making a pot of coffee without the carafe in place and the backfill seemed to permanently clog the machine.) I use paper filters because I like less particles in my coffee. I have used the programming feature but prefer to push the “on” button in the morning.

It works fine so far. I always set it up before bed so coffee is ready in the morning. My old one had a stairstep measuring guide inside, this one doesn’t. I preferred stairstep inside because I’m really tall. But I wondered how short folks could manage that….so I am not surprised of the change. Wish it had both options (outer side window for the shorties and inner stairstep guide for tallies — because now I need to hunch over.
I still use a paper filter with the reusable filter — less mess.

I just wish the coffee maker would last longer .Every year and a half seem to have to buy a new one it stops working. We love that it makes 14 cups and can stay hot for 4 hours. If I could could find a different brand I would switch tired that items don't last long. For the cost it should last longer. The last one didn't even get one year out of it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's easy to program. Like the different settings for carafe temp. Nice exterior; doesn't show fingerprints.
The place where you pour in the water is narrow and since you're pouring from above, it's easy to miss the opening and pour water into the coffee. Wish the carafe lid was hinged so you don't have to take it off completely to rinse the carafe.
