Because the lid of the carafe is not designed to simply flip open, it’s easy to forget to replace it after filling the reservoir. And if that happens, there’s a big mess. Fortunately, I’ve caught my oversight in time. Also, the carafe’s plastic rim makes cleaning difficult.

Would have been a fine except it had to be waranteedd because I couldn't get the 'Clean" lite off. No matter how many cleanings I did per instructions the red lite never went off. Customer service said "That's because you're supposed to 'clean' the coffeemaker BEFORE the lite goes on"-what? First, the instruction booklet doesn't say that, and next, the lite should have come on way before that if that's the case-duh! Anyways they did a good job of waranteeing, so that's good, but now I have to clean it before any lite comes on (not the intended design) as I don''t know if that problem has been fixed.

This is our 2nd copy for the cottage to replace a Mr. Coffee brewer. The super-taster in the family insists there is a difference. The only gripe is that the brew light quit working after a month. Is it worth the hassle to return it? Aaargh.
