This coffee maker (14 cup) was to replace a 12 cup Cuisinart. Metal Filters (included) are the same size (!?) I brew light and the filter flooded, grounds in coffee. If I were to use recommended amount for a full pot I would have a flood. Not draining out of filter as fast as hot water flows in? (I use Gevalia coffee, usually 3 heaping TBLs for 12 cup pot)
I like that it makes regular or bold strength coffee. It also has a large carafe which is nice when you have guests. It has three temperature settings which I use the hottest setting. This pot makes a good cup of coffee.
This is a nice coffee maker. It has a bold setting if you like stronger coffee. The plate can be set to hot and the coffee is hot even after I add cream. The programmable feature is nice as I like to have the coffee ready when I get up.
I purchased this coffee pot after researching it i love it easy to use and brew well and has 3 different settings of temp even has a small batch button.
Works well and the programming feature is a help when you have guests that get up earlier than you do. One issue we have is that when we try to make 14 cups, the grounds can overflow the filter and get into the carafe so we have to limit the water level to less that 12 cups.
This unit replaced my previous DCC-3000, which I LOVED but was unable to find locally. This new unit is noisy....it hisses loudly while brewing. After having used the DCC-3000, as well as two carafe-free units by Hamilton Beach, I dislike having a carafe unit.
