I have now made about a half dozen brews...the one feature I do not like is you must make sure the coffee filter is inserted completely down before putting in the paper filter and coffee. There is a notch, but apparently it is a bit tight and you need to make sure it has bottomed.
If the above is not done the brewing coffee water will not pass through to the caffee. The result are water and coffee all over the coffee maker interior.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this Christmas for my husband and it is his favorite gift. It makes enough coffee that he and 6 buddies can all have a mug at the same time. The burner keeps the coffee nice and hot, that’s if there’s ever any leftover. Great coffee maker!

Bought this to use over the holidays and it works good. We tried both ways of brewing coffee regular and then used the bold feature and found the bold really made the coffee taste much better. Also tried the paper filters but did not care for them we used the gold filter alone and again this enhanced the flavor. It is a good coffee maker.

We got this as a Christmas gift. The 14 cup pot can be poured without spilling....no drips! Also, the options on base temperature settings are great. We like our coffee hot and the Cuisinart makes the hottest we have ever had.

I bought my first ever Cuisinart Coffeemaker about a month ago and I don't know why it took me so long to do so! It makes the absolute BEST cup of coffee and it looks great in my kitchen!

The coffee made from this pot has been very good. It is easy to set up each day and programming as worked flawlessly. It is a good looking coffeemaker on our counter. When we first started using it, the pot pulled out and back in just fine, but the longer we have it, it seems to get caught (just like other coffeemakers that we have had) on the button on the bottem of the basket and you have to move it around until it goes in. The outside of the maker does show streaks, and it needs to be wiped off regularly.
