I have been making coffee for over 30 years with a Gevalia coffee pot and never had any issues with coffee grinds in my coffee. The first three times I used this pot there were coffee grinds in the bottom of the pot. I found the the top basket must be snapped down into place to lessen the grinds but even then it's hit or miss. Also the top cover of the coffee pot is not easy to put on or take off and if it is not secured exactly correctly the hot coffee leaks onto the hot platform which is now scorched. I bought this coffee pot less then a month ago and the hotplate looks older than the Gevalia pot that was over 8 years old. Now I have to stay in the kitchen while the coffee brews to make sure the coffee pot is set correctly while it brews, several times I have had to stop the cycle to prevent the burning smell of leaking coffee. Not a fan....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
