I liked my older model better. While most of the features are the same, with this version I have to hit the "Bold" button every time I set the timer. With the last one, once I set bold I didn't have to do it again. Also, the basket design in this one causes the carafe to catch and I have to wiggle it to get it back on the hot plate. One would think the design would improve over time and not regress.

Bought as a replacement and. Dry pleased with enhancements. Pour spout no longer spills coffee. Coffee is hotter. Always wipe heat pad and coffee pot of any excess water to prevent rusting heat pad out

I have owned this coffeemaker for about 3 months. I love that you can control how long the hot plate stays on, that it alerts you when the coffee is finished brewing, that you can control the boldness (or not) of the brewing cycle, that it doesn't take up too much counter space, that the coffee stays hot and tastes really good, and that it alerts you when the coffeemaker needs to be cleaned. What a wonderful product for a reasonable price!

We have enjoyed this coffee maker. We especially like being able to see the water level from the outside the coffee maker as opposed to having it on the inside like the 1200 design.
