I can not get the lid on the carafe to snap shut. When I pour myself a cup of coffee the back of the lid that should snap shut flys open

We bought this to replace our original Cuisinart coffee maker which brewed many wonderful cups of coffee for years and years. Our we 14 cup is brews more quickly and keeps coffee warm to the very last drop.
