[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung is back with their latest premium soundbar for 2025. They have held the crown for best premium soundbar for the last couple of years, so I couldn’t wait to see what they had up their sleeve with this year’s iteration.
I think most people were looking for some enhancements to the system’s design. Enter the HW-Q990F.

The bar keeps the same overall design as previous years, but Samsung made a change to the subwoofer and a slight color change. The bar has a more rigged look on the top of the bar, this is really the only distinguishing factor when comparing previous years soundbars.
The subwoofer is much smaller and compact. It has two 8-inch drivers that delivers an immersive sound when paired with the bar and surrounds.

After listening to several movies and music, the soundbar sounds much better than previous versions due to the voice clarity and the bass response of the system as a whole.
The HW-Q990F can be setup fairly easy by using the SmartThings app.

The sound of the HW-Q990F has a much cleaner, clearer and better all-around sound than previous years in my opinion. The soundbar does everything really well. The voice clarity is much better this year. The bass response is better overall, and music sounds really good. You can’t go wrong with HW-Q990F. Is the HW-Q990F worth it because of the new subwoofer?
I would say yes due to the dual driver sub, and the much cleaner and detailed sound.

Great features

We've been using this soundbar for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed with the audio quality. The sound is clear and immersive, making movies and music much more enjoyable. Setup was straightforward, and it integrated easily with my TV. Definitely a great addition to my home entertainment system.

GREAT SOUND BAR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this sound bar. One of the unique features it offers is a privet rear setting (not available on other sound bars. It turns off the front speakers and woofer. This is absolutely a great feature when you are watching a movie and no one else wants to hear it in the house. All the other setting on the app allow you to tune the system to any sound preferences you like. The system has more than enough power to shake the house in action movies or music. I use this system in an 18 x 20 bedroom and it does a good job. It is a not the 7.1 sound system with my paradigm speakers and a Denon AVR-X2800H in my theater room, but it is less than 1/10 the cost. I THINK IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

Amazing soundbar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the Q990F for a few weeks now, and it’s absolutely transformed my home entertainment setup. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support create an incredibly immersive surround sound experience, especially with the rear speakers and upward-firing drivers. It’s the closest thing to a true theater experience I’ve had at home.
Setup was surprisingly easy—everything connected wirelessly without hassle, and the SmartThings app makes tweaking settings straightforward. The sound is crisp and powerful, whether I’m watching movies, gaming, or just streaming music via Bluetooth. Dialogue is crystal clear, and the bass from the subwoofer is deep but balanced—not just rumble for the sake of it.
At this price point, it’s a premium product, but you really get what you pay for. Highly recommended if you want high-end sound without the complexity of a traditional AV receiver setup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's like I was in a movie theatre but in the comfort of my own home the upward firing speakers from the sound bar gives you a full in deput experience the bass gives you that nice low end rumble the forward firing speakers gives you that clear vocalls i have recommended the Q series to my friends and family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife hooked up the sound bar and I had the pleasure of hearing in. The dialogue is so crisp and clear and for such a small subwoofer the bass is nothing to complain about. It is small but it packs a mighty punch. The speakers can get very loud without any distortion and I like that the surround speakers are wireless. Save me the work of running cable through the walls. BT and SmartThings connected quickly. Playing music via BT was seamless and sounds very good. If you are looking for an soundbar this is very much one to consider.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This soundbar is amazing 10/10 on every front. It was a great addition to our home entertainment space. The smart features with SmartThings, Wireless connection make setup a breeze and we were enjoying it in under 10 minutes. From Movies to TV shows the sound fills the room and creates a wonderful soundstage. We change between SpaceFit sound and Adaptive sound based on our media. The Game Mode Pro really takes gaming to next level. Our kids love the gaming with this soundbar. The newly designed Subwoofer is a real deal and can trounce sound from much much expensive audio systems.
The design is so clean and gets lot of compliments. Samsung has knocked this one out of the park!
I would recommend this to a friend!
