I bought my original Roku about 6 months ago. It lasted about 2 months and then it didn’t work. The Roku company replaced the remote and the second one only lasted a couple weeks. We decided to purchase a new Roku about a month ago. Each time we ran into issues we changed out the batteries and that didn’t work. The new one is no longer working either. Not too happy

Hi Mary! We appreciate your feedback. No worries! We're here to help. First, we advise you to check that the batteries are aligned correctly and that no debris is blocking the path. Second, please reboot the device by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. Lastly, if you're using the TV's USB port for the device's power, try plugging it into the wall outlet.
In the meantime, I encourage you to use the Roku app. It has everything you need to control your streaming, search with your voice, enjoy private listening, and quickly launch your most recent channels. The app is free to download to your iOS and Android phone; search for "The Roku app official." If you need more assistance along the way, you can contact the Roku support team here: support.roku.com/contactus.

Doesn’t work for long

We got this because our tv is a bit dated and doesn’t sync with all streaming apps. The remote constantly has to be re-paired with the tv/receiver (typically every couple weeks). This started happening a few weeks after we got it. If you don’t re-pair it the remote starts to get glitchy and eventually stops controlling the tv. Or the batteries will drain because the remote is constantly searching for the tv. Re-pairing is a bit of a process where you unplug things in a certain order and take out the batteries. It’s not ideal when you just want to watch tv or when it happens when guests are staying over and are unable to use our tv.

Bought two

I purchased two of these devices and both of them are no good. At first, not bad but within 1 month both of them started acting up. At first it was a matter of removing the battery and replacing it back but now, the Roku express will not work unless I remove the battery every time I push a button. Extremely aggravating! So far the Roku Stick is working fine. Don't buy the express!!

Upon initial installation this model seemed like a nice upgrade from my previous version. Shortly after using the device, within the first week, the button presses stopped registering. Very frustrating to try and use.

Hi, Preston. We understand you're having trouble with your Roku remote. Sometimes, Roku remotes can unpair from their devices due to power issues, Wi-Fi problems, or random glitches. First, check that your batteries are aligned correctly and there's no debris blocking the path. Try to restart your Roku device by going to Home > Settings > System > Power. If you don't see Power, go to System Restart. In the meantime, please consider using our Roku mobile app for temporary and backup remotes. For detailed instructions, please refer to our support article: https://support.roku.com/article/217288467 if you are still facing the same issue. We like the Roku, but we go thru batteries at least 2 to 3 times a month. And we have 5 Roku's. Wish they could fix this problem.

Hello Terry, thanks for taking the time to share. Roku remotes are designed to go the distance, but there are a few things that will drain a remote a bit faster: Congested Wi-Fi network around the device or viewing lots of short-form content, like YouTube, where a streamer could go through a few hundred button presses in an hour. By the way, we offer the Voice Remote Pro, a rechargeable remote with private listening, voice search, and voice commands, two programmable shortcut buttons, and a lost remote finder. With it, you'll never buy a pack of batteries again. You can also use our Roku Mobile app. It's a free application for iOS and Android devices where you can't only launch channels, navigate the Roku interface, and search and issue commands with your voice, you can also share personal photos and videos on your TV, listen privately with your headphones, and more. More information about it can be found at https://support.roku.com/article/217288467. If the issue persists, contact us at https://support.roku.com/contactus for further assistance. Thanks again, and Happy Streaming! Roku Customer Advocate

I have been using Tiki products for a few years now. I bout this one a few months ago. I love this one. The microphone feature makes things so much easier for me. Trying to type out what I'm searching for takes too much timw.
