Free channels are sub par. Mostly reruns. Must purchase live streaming apps for channels worth watching. Using my phone's smartcast instead.

I have using Roku almost 2 months and I see it has only one peruvian channel; almost 1/4 of channels are sports that I dont" watch and a lot of channels with programs repeated and repeated and worst, the soapoperas are from de 70's !. Really I was expected something more update and new. But this is what the people like me, who don't have enough money, can get. Anywsy, thank you.

I purchased Roku so I could watch Netflix on my Samsung Smart TV because the TV is old so Netflix can't stream on it anymore. However, even though I can watch Netflix I can't watch my local stations anymore. Bummer. I tried to disconnect the Roku hoping that might work but it didn't. Wouldn't have bought Roku had I known I wouldn't be able to watch my local channels.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Janet, thanks for sharing. We want to provide some ideas. Roku players cannot receive OTA (over-the-air) stations. Only a device with an ATSC tuner is capable of viewing OTA signals, and no Roku player has such a tuner. Only Roku TV’s system is equipped with an ATSC tuner that provides access to digital “over-the-air” broadcast television. These channels can be accessed via an HDTV antenna connected to the Live TV input on your Roku TV system. If you want to watch your local channels, simply change the input source on your TV. If you have more inquiries, you can contact us at https://support.roku.com/contactus. We hope this clears things out. Roku Customer Advocate

Hello Kate, we appreciate your time for sharing. We'd like to help. Do you encounter any error messages or error codes? Kindly try restarting your network router, for the updating of channels solely relies on your network strength. After doing so, you can restart your Roku device by unplugging it from the power outlet and plugging it back in. If the issue is persistent, kindly try connecting the device to a mobile hotspot just to check for differences. If you need further assistance, please contact us at https://support.roku.com/contactus. We're looking forward to your better experience. Roku Customer Advocate
