Remote seems very inconsistent and slow responding

I cancelled my cable and bought this Roku a week later. I had to wait for my handyman to show me how to install it because I have had bad luck doing it myself. It was so easy it was ridiculous! I have bought another for a different room which I haven't installed yet, but I'm going to give it a try.
I was amazed at all the options set up on the Roku. I haven't checked them all out, but I try to do that once a week. My only complaint on my Roku is that it seems to revert back to a Roku page and then nothingness very quickly. If I pause a show, and go in the kitchen for 10 minutes, I have to push buttons, get to my channel, and find the show again. My other option would be to let the show keep running and try to rewind or refind where I was when I come back. If there is a way to make the time longer, I'd like to know about it.
I would give this product 5 stars if I could find that informationn, It seems to work perfectly. Overall, I am very happy with it,

It is definitely centered around MY needs, not what it wants to show me. Everything is arranged on screen in an intuitive way. And it’s quick. No more slow start ups, buffering, and unexpected shut downs. I couldn’t recommend it higher.

This has solved our problems with being able to access Kanopy and other favorites. We are still learning how to best use ROKU
