I bought this a few moths ago and I am already having issues with the remote. I had to press the button really hard so it works and when I turn it off, my sound bar stays one for the night. The same happens with the tv sometime as well. I have changed the batteries and reset it but nothing seem to work, it is actually getting worse. I am glad I receive this email because I was going to call to see if the is any warranty for this product.

We’re on our second Roku the first one the remote received a static shock and was all messed up like the volume would turn the TV off, the OK button would try to select everything at the same time, etc. it was all messed up. I didn’t know a remote would be fried with a static shock.

My third Roku device. Now all tvs operate the same with just one remote. One minor complaint is volume control on side of remote. So much better than my Apple tv(which I happily trashed)!

Won’t control my sound bar.

I have a Bose sound bar but my new Roku remote won’t control volume with Bose no matter how I have tried.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, Rich. Thank you for sharing with us. You can use a Roku remote to control a Bose soundbar if it's Roku TV Ready certified and connected to a Roku TV over HDMI. However, your Roku voice remote cannot directly control other devices connected to your TV, like soundbars and AVRs. Nevertheless, it’s possible based on your equipment, through a technology called HDMI-CEC! For this to work, all your devices must be connected via HDMI, and all devices must support HDMI-CEC and have this feature enabled. To learn if your TV, AVR, or soundbar supports this technology, refer to the documentation for each device. Be aware that manufacturers may refer to HDMI-CEC by a different name.
