Functions failed

The TV controls are failing to work after a short period. Mute was first button to become flakey then others followed. Either too cheap components or poor design.

Bought my first Roku last year. Was sorta satisfied until trying to watch movies on prime tv. Never got to watch an entire movie before it went haywire. Then in May 2024 everything froze. Ended up having to buy another Roku & guess what? It is frozen solid & I’m done with Roku.

Hello Markay, help is here! It looks like you are experiencing a playback issue with your Roku device. The best way to address this effectively is by updating the software on your device. This update will enhance performance and give you access to the latest features. To check for updates, press the Home button, navigate to Settings, select System, and then choose Software Update. Click on "Check Now" to search for available updates. Additionally, it is essential to ensure that you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. To optimize connectivity, we suggest restarting your Wi-Fi router and evaluating the distance between your device and the router. New life to my old(er) TV

Wanted to connect my old tv in my workshop but had now way to add an antenna or run a tv cable there, and the tv has no WiFi capability. My only solution was to get a Roku connector and voila, now I have a smart tv in my workshop, and did not have to purchase a new tv!! Happy I went the Roku route.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A blessing in disguise really…while Roku provides a decent device to interface with TV programing, the programming provided is an indeterminate minefield of what you are subscribed to & what they are trying to hook you…so, I will no longer watch TV & devote myself to real life & living endeavours.

Great for making an older TV smart

I bought a used LED TV and bought the Roku express to use for streaming. It was a breeze to set up. It took less time than the TV took to program broadcast channels. I recently learned that using these streaming devices take 1/30th the energy compared to using a gaming system for streaming . . . a good move for the environment.
