Great...except terrible water taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the space and the dual ice makers. Ultimately, I'm not sure I'll end up keeping it. The water tastes (and smells) very plastic-y. This is the second one we've tried (the store exchanged the first in case it was simply a lemon) and it still has bad tasting water. Yes, we flushed the filter. That's the first question everyone asks. We flushed 5 gallons immediately. And have been going throug 1-2 gallons a day for the last 2 weeks we've had it. It's not that the filter needs to be flushed. The ice, surprisingly, is not affected; it tastes fine. It seems as if the water is setting in the line at the back of the fridge to get the bad flavor? The first glass of water always needs to be dumped. But then the second glass of water is fine. But if you don't get water for a bit (say an hour or so), it goes back to tasting bad and needs a glass dumped again. We do this process EVERYTIME we want water. Except for the water issue, and the left door refusing to stay open and swinging back to clock you on the head with some force, we like the fridge. It has GREAT space. But, the water may be a deal breaker.

I love the dual icemakers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this two weeks and the only regret I have is that I didnot get the crew to install the refrigerator. My door was not wide enough and had to emoved the doors to get it in. I had a earlier Whirlpool model before but this was a 1/4" larger, but I got it in hookup and it's fine. All I can say is double check your measurements and let the delivery guys install it!

Even though whirlpool makes Maytag refrigerators we had so much trouble with the Maytag and it’s ice maker.

Large capacity is nice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We appreciate the large capacity of this unit. The new stainless steel finish is an improvement over our older Whirlpool Refrigerator. Finger prints come off easily.
We are very disappointed that the left door does not stay open when using the wide sliding drawer. We have to use our body to push against the door or else you cannot open the drawer. We put in a repair order for this and we were sent some shims. The repairman could not make the door operate properly even with the new shims. This is a problem for us and we hope it can be fixed.
