Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had for he fridge for a few weeks now. Installation was a hassle. One installer said my water shut off valve needed replaced. Paid to have that done. Next installe said valve needed to be behind the fridge. 3rd installer finally got the job done. Next the ice maker didn't work. Repair company was sent out to fix a brand new fridge. Now the water doesn't dispense and they need to come and repair that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your water dispenser isn't working, check these common issues:
1. Control Lock Feature:
Problem: The Control Lock is on, preventing dispensing.
Solution: Check the control panel and follow your manual to deactivate the lock.
2. Water Filter Issues:
A. Installation/Clog: A new or recently replaced filter might be improperly installed or a clogged, old filter may be restricting flow.
Solution:
Ensure the filter is securely locked and sealed.
Test: Remove the filter; if water dispenses, the filter was installed incorrectly. Reinstall until it "clicks."
Replacement: Replace your Whirlpool filter every six months or when the indicator light comes on. Use genuine everydrop® water filters for best results.
3. Water Supply Line:
A. Connection: Ensure the connection is 1/4" soft copper or PEX tubing. Maintain a service loop behind the unit.
B. Kinks: Kinks or pinches in the line reduce water flow.
Solution: Pull the fridge out and gently straighten any kinks in the supply line.
4. Water Pressure:
Problem: Low pressure causes slow dispensing, small ice cubes, or no ice.
Solution: Review guide on Ensuring Correct Water Pressure to ensure it meets specifications. Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems can reduce pressure; consult guidelines for RO connection.
5. Dispenser Engagement:
Problem: The dispenser paddle/pad is not fully pressed.
Solution: Ensure your container firmly and fully engages the paddle or pad switch to activate water or ice flow.

Broken Ice Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker is non functioning from the first day of purchase, so that is very disappointing. Still under warranty, but hopefully not a sign of things to come. The refrigerator is spacious and cold. Check the size since I did not realize this refrigerator is deeper than the one I replaced, so it sticks out a little further. That said, it is 31 cubic feet, so there is a ton of space. If you use the wide drawer for drinks, there are no ridges to keep them in place, so they roll back and fourth as you pull out the drawer. The interior water dispenser seems slower to fill than a door dispenser, so it is a little annoying but tolerable. The doors are also difficult to close. We have accidentally left the door slightly open numerous times.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Huge family sized refrigerator at a great price. We purchased this about a month ago to replace a 20 year old side by side that never seemed to have enough space. Problem solved! This model has plenty of space, which is put to good use with thoughtfully designed shelving and bins. Everything is visible and easy to reach without shuffling the contents searching for a tub of sour cream. We chose the internal water dispenser and ice maker because we value the extra space and clean layout over "through the door" water and ice, which always seem more prone to failure after a few years.
One caveat with the French doors: make sure you have enough kitchen space to swing the doors wide open. There is a full-width drawer that will not pull out if you don't open the doors all the way. Whirlpool calls this out in the product description, so read and measure before you buy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Features-More Room!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our refrigerator had quit, unable to be fixed, so we were looking for the same type of refrigerator. Honestly, we overlooked this model to begin with because there was no ice or water in the door. However, on closer inspection, there is water, and we LOVED the idea of having large capacity ice in the freezer. We have LOTS more room in our refrigerator because shelf space is not taken up by the ice maker. We are loving it. This model fits us much better than our old refrigerator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

TERRIBLE - DO NOT BUY

Fridge doors don't close by themselves! They stay partially open when not physically pushed very hard. Unacceptable.
-Tiny bits of plastic everywhere that is impossible to get off.
-Interior shelving "metal" scrapes off VERY easily. Ends of shelving looks like crap after only a few months.
-Interior shelving doesn't allow you to slide items across due to large hinges in the middle. Junk design.
