The Maker 4 is amazing in all that it can do. After using a family members Joy Extra I was hooked but wanted the ultimate. 3 weeks later I have done the following: waterproof stickers for my grandkids and friends, glass etching a candy jar, birthday card, engraved a dog tag, permanent vinyl coffee cups, iron on vinyl t-shirt, full color DTV iron on t-shirt for my grandkids. Next is wood burning, leather tooling, and wood cut outs. Possibly even cutting out fabric.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't cut fabric, don't but for that

I bought the Maker 4 specifically of the claim that it would cut fabric. After investing in fabric mats and the rotary blade, it only shreds fabric and destroys the mat. When I called for assistance I was told it can only cut Cricut materials and cannot cut fabric. If that is the case they shouldn't be advertising that it can cut fabric. Was told it was too late to return it, I would like a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Faster load and matted cutting!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the Maker 4 to test out and give honest feedback. I have created many projects with it over the last month and am very impressed. The increased speed is great, especially the faster load time. I really like how fast it writes with pen and how much faster it cuts matted materials (like paper!)
I have cut chipboard flawlessly with it along with wood veneer (love these materials) too. The foiling comes out so pretty, I didn’t have to double the image!
While it comes with materials to start you off, I suggest grabbing a pack of cardstock to really play with. I love that this machine comes with a blue mat (light grip) in the box. I would suggest picking up a green mat also (standard grip).
Overall, it’s the perfect upgrade and I’m thankful to have tested it.

So Fast and Very Precise Cutting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent the Cricut Maker 4 from Cricut to try for honest feedback. I am absolutely loving it! It's super fast with cardstock and vinyls, but the same amount of time for chipboard and basswood.. My cuts are perfect every time! It's a powerhouse cutting machine and my favorite that I have used so far. I love that I am able to use everything that I have purchased for the Maker and Maker 3. The seashell color is BEAUTIFUL!

Great features

I bought this on sale for Black Friday. It’s my first ever Cricut machine or anything Cricut. Takes a wide range of materials. However, I can’t seem to get it to engrave the same quality as the first time I engraved an anodized aluminum dog tag. It takes about 45 minutes just to engrave one side of the tag, using a line avg so that the lines are more solid than just the outer edge of the lettering. But maybe I’m just doing something wrong. Time will tell. Also, I can’t get my stickers to do just a kiss cut, the cut always goes all the way through both layers of sticker paper. Again, must be me. Other than that it’s a pretty good machine for me. It’s the Cricut Maker 4.

Cricut Maker 4 is GREAT, “Free” Mat-Not so Great.

I had an Explore Air 2 that needed replaced so bought the Maker 4. Speed is wonderful, cuts beautifully, easy to use. My rating of a 4 is because they enclose inside the box a “free” blue cutting mat. This is not the same as what you order separately. Very thin mat and the way it is packaged, the edges were crinkled and creased. Not useable, as it would get stuck in the machine. So much for “making something right away!” I was surprised it was in the box in the first place!
I would recommend this to a friend!
