[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Maker 4 a few weeks ago. I have previously had a Explore Air 2, Maker, Joy Xtra and the Maker 3. The Maker 4 far out performs any of my other cutters. Though the others are still excellent machines the Maker 4 not only cuts faster but the cuts are cleaner with fewer passes. I love intricate cardstock cuts and this machine can do them. Pieces as small as .02 x .02 are easily defined after cutting.
I am having alot of trouble with my Cricuit 4. It is very very slow. It actually works but takes a long time to start printing or cutting. I have to just start it and come back later to get my item. My Cricuit 3 started printing or cutting immediately. I gave my Cricuit 3 to my son or I would have it back working and return the Cricuit 4.

Connection is always a risk. Its taken me up to am hour to get the cricut to connect to print. It's so inconsistent if it will work via blue tooth or USB. Although if i do connect with the USB i have to cancel between every print because it won't eject the mat back out.
Love the machine! Unfortunately quality control could be better. I purchased this machine for my daughter. I opted to help go through the initial set up with her and I am so glad that I did. The machine would not cut the sample project of removable vinyl. We tried several things…recutting, reseating the housing, reseating the blade in the housing, etc. Finally, I popped out the blade that came in the machine and put in a different brand new blade I had purchased as a backup for her. It then cut perfectly. While I was excited that we resolved the issue, it took time to resolve. I was disappointed to think how much worse the experience would have been with a brand new user who didn’t happen to have another blade on hand or even know that that was the potential issue. I do love the machine and its speed at cutting matted materials! I love mine and the many materials I’ve cut with it! I would definitely buy it for her again. I’d just like to see Cricut look into quality control for blades because I’m confused about how this happened.
28 passes and 23 hours to cut something small on THEIR brand of chipboard and basswood. No thank you. I should've gotten the Explore.

Cricut Maker 4 Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity to test the New Maker 4 Machine. At first, there were some Bluetooth connection problems that were quickly resolved. The speed is a game changer from the Maker 3 machine. I did compare them with vinyl and cardstock materials, and every time, the Maker 4 was faster. I work mainly with cardstock using multiple mats with intricate cuts, and I was amazed at how well the Maker 4 cut!
I honestly can't say enough good things about this machine. I can get a late start with crafting and still get done early. It's so fast I cant keep up with it. That is a nice problem to have. Even the scoring and foiling are faster with this machine. I have to plan twice as many projects before setting out to craft, which again, wonderful for creatives! The maker 4 still accepts all the adaptive tools my maker 3 took, so that was a huge plus. This is such a huge upgrade. Im so grateful for the time it saves me and allows me to create more. Wonderful machine.
