My Maker 3 broke so I figured I'd upgrade to the Maker 4. Basically it's just faster and louder and that's it. Not every material can be cut faster. It'd be a lot better if the speed could be adjusted per material. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone else "upgrade" to this.

HI Candi, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We were sorry to hear the upgrade hasn’t met your expectations—especially after replacing a machine that had already stopped working. Your feedback about speed, noise, and material‑specific adjustments is genuinely valuable. While the newer model is designed to offer improved performance, it’s clear that those improvements didn’t translate into the workflow you were hoping for. Not all materials can safely be cut at higher speeds, and I understand how limiting that can feel. I’ve passed your comments along to our product team, and we know they will review it. In the mean time, please know you can contact Cricut Member Care at any time with any questions you may have at 877-727-4288, and we would be happy to help.
Similar operation to my Explore and Maker but faster. I feel like it cuts the fastest when I use the Kraftboard setting. I don’t feel it’s as fast with the heavy cardstock setting.
I am loving my Cricut 4. It was easy to set up, and cuts great. I haven't trie4d it out with any specialty products yet, but I can say for my usager so far it exceeds expectaionts.
This was an upgrade machine for me. I have the Cricut Joy Xtra, Explore Air 2 and a Maker. The Cricut machines are so easy to set up and get started right out of the box. I haven't used my new Maker 4 much yet (but have lots of projects I want to do when I find the time!). I did notice that it is much quieter than the Maker and seems to cut much faster as well.
