This model is much better if you cut out fabric. Previously used the Maker and had a lot of issues cutting out letters and finer details with the rotary blade.
The machine cuts super fast but it sometimes (often) pulls the mat in wonky. I'm having to learn new settings from what I used on the Maker 3. Totally different. I hope I get used to it soon and love it as I did my Maker 3.
Starting this off stating there was no reason to upgrade other than to have the newer release of machine. I waited for pre-release and early release bugs to be worked out by those pioneers who may have the newest thing upon release (thank you). I'm loving my choice! Being able to cut without a mat on some things projects is really nice. It's much faster than my Maker 3. If you're on the fence, wait for a sale.
I’ve used my Explorer Air 2 for a while and I am so surprised by the speed and versatility of the Maker 4! I’m still discovering all that the maker does. I still adore my old machine; I have more to love now!
