I purchased this new machine approximately to weeks ago to upgrade from the Cricut Explore Air 2. I wanted to be able to make different types of projects using fabrics and wood. I am very impressed with how this machine is so fast and love it when you thought you put in the right tool, but didn't. The machine will not operate until you do as directed with the correct tool.

They need to fix the issues

If they fix the issues so that it doesn't crash every 5 minutes, I think it could be great! I have spent more time connecting and reconnecting than I have designing. I should have read the reviews before I bought it, sounds like it's an ongoing issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great machine,Design Space is a challenge to Learn
on December 8, 2025

I have had my Maker 4 for a few months. I can appreciate the machine can perform a lot of tasks however I learned early on it will take me a long time to learn how to use design space and the different materials. It is a challenge to say the least. So much wasted time and material just trying to learn how to do things. I still have a long road to get where I am comfortable and confident. I spent a fair amount of money purchasing online lessons and books only to learn they are useless since the program underwent a big change this year. I will keep at it since I a, retired and have time to learn new skills.

Love the Maker 4

I was replacing a broken Maker. The Maker 4 is so much more useful and I love the Smart Vinyl. It cut my vinyl cleanly. It works well with my mat as well.

Bluetooth hard to connect
on December 8, 2025

It cuts really well. It’s quick. However it takes a LOT to get it connected to Bluetooth. Turn the machine on and off, the BT on and off, relaunch DS. The machine is close to the computer and the router so distance is not an issue. Takes so long I usually just use my regular maker while trying to get it to connect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had nothing but trouble connecting my machine to Bluetooth. My laptop is new. I have more than enough memory and speed. I have great internet service yet I am using a wire to connect the machine to my computer in the year 2025. As an aside, why do we not have the capability to do larger print then cuts?

Impressive machine!

The machine is amazing! My only complaint is that it is so hard to figure out the proper pressure. I've nearly cut my mat to bits and also ruined materials because of the difficulty. I suppose I would not have this struggle if I only used Cricut materials, but they don't have everything I want in their brand.
