I’ve had an old cartridge Cricut for several years. I recently updated to an Explore 4. I love the speed of cutting and the plethora of images available for free. One thing I wish I could change, or maybe just need to figure out how to do, is to cut out only a portion of a design. From what I can tell, it’s all or nothing. Also learning how to do things through the Cricut site isn’t always user friendly. I’ve found some great teachers online which is super helpful. Overall, I’m so glad I got this model and I’m having fun trying new projects, I just have a lot more to learn.

Expected a setup process with less hassle

Still haven’t been able to make a product. We couldn’t calibrate it using our Mac M3, so had to calibrate it on an M2 iPad. However, the AirPrint function on iPad works over WiFi and the circuit is Bluetooth, so I couldn’t actually send anything from my iPad to the Cricut. But since the Cricut was already calibrated, we connected it back to the M3 to print. Anyway, the setup card pointing out all the parts of the Cricut was not complete, whoever approved that technical sketch could pay closer attention. Creating an online account also didn’t work multiple times on my iPhone 12 mini, I had to switch to my iPad to create an account. Is there a cheat sheet to show either what the Cricut will or won’t work with? The musical chairs of devices is exhausting and frustrating.

Great but broke

What I was able to make came out great but the metal bar broke within the first month while making Christmas presents. My machine replacement request for a defective machine is currently under review so I hope to hear something soon.
I really love the cricut. I created a beautiful album for my daughter’s wedding. I just have two things for product improvement that made things a little frustrating. The Bluetooth connections was really not great. The system was less than 15 feet away and I continually had to power cycle the machine. Maybe switch over to WiFi? The other biggest problem I had doing a 12 x 12 album. I understand why you can’t cut to 12 inches. You’d risk running off the end of the paper. I get it. But if you could just have a function that centers the cut on the mat a lot of problems would go away. I tired all the suggestions on YouTube over and over and over and wasted tons of paper. None of the suggestions worked. Moving the object on the mat in the software also did not seem to work. Very frustrating.

just purchased the Cricut Explore® 4 Smart Cutting Machine today, and although I haven’t used it yet, I’m so excited for it to arrive! I’ve heard so many great things about the machine, and I can’t wait to start using it for my crafting projects. The setup looks straightforward, and I’m looking forward to exploring all the features once it gets here. I’ll update my review once I’ve had the chance to use it, but so far, I’m feeling confident it’s going to be a fantastic tool for my creative needs!
I really am happy with my new cricut. I find it to have great performance along with the increased speed. Making large quantities of stickers has saved so much time. All my accessories from the Explore3 seem to fit perfectly as well. It stays connected by Bluetooth much better than previous models I have.
