Replacement for Duet Washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the machine. It has wash and dry feature, which is convenient for some situations, but the drying time is long. I use our stand alone Fuet dryer for most loads. I do love the larger capacity and many times I use Quick Wash/Towels and the wash cycle is 15 minutes. My clothing is generally lightly soiled, and I am satisfied with the result. My only complaint is that it doesn’t spin out as effectively as the previous Duet washer. It results in shorter wash but longer drying time. We are a five unit coop and everyone is happy with the machine. Some owners use the Wash and Dry feature, especially those on higher floors, saving a trip up and down the stairs to the basement.

Bad investment - do not recommend

I bought this unit a few months ago to replace my stackable washer dryer unit. I was excited to have something so forward thinking but have been so disappointed. The control panel would have you believe that you can control your laundry, but you can't. You cannot throw a wrinkled sweatshirt in with a wet washcloth and choose steam clean just to get the wrinkles out. You can't do anything but the dry cycle, and that starts with a. 20 minute spin before it even starts to heat. On top of a lack of timed drying or wrinkle free setting, the instructions would have you think that draining the unit and clearing the lint trap is something you only need to do monthly and that it's a very easy process. The first time I did it, the very small short tube was still draining after about an hour because the lint trap was so full that the unit couldn't drain out all of the water. I wound up flooding my floor because the drain is not high up enough off the floor to put anything under it to catch the water. The pedestal they sell for this does not have anything to assist in draining the unit either, and should not even be sold without a drain assist pedestal. Note that when your dry cycle is complete, you need to get your clothes out immediately. If you leave them for any length of time, they will immediately wrinkle, because they are still damp with humidity. Once that humidity sets, you have deep wrinkles that are very hard to get out. The alerts are not audible so you have to babysit the whole process. I wash and dry separately so I can add lint balls and organic dryer sheets to my dry cycle to try to avoid wrinkles, static, and add scent. I clean my machine with tablets once a week as the rubber guard is sticky and difficult to keep clean.
Overall, biding my time to put this in a landfill and get a stackable back in my home.
I will be paying on this unit for probably another year before I can even think about getting something else so please save your money, make a better investment and maybe another washer dryer combo unit by another manufacturer that actually was tested by people who actually do their laundry.

Stupidest piece of machinery to ever exist
on November 29, 2025

I’m writing this at 4 in the morning during a 3 hour battle with this thing. I was unfortunately an unassuming victim of whirlpool. I was stuck with this stupid thing because my apartment complex decided to give me the unit with the most incredibly ridiculously designed washer. I don’t care about 2 in 1. But I was forced into this life. This thing constantly has error messages. I have never successfully done a load of laundry where there wasn’t at least 4 hiccups. It averages a time of 7 hours. It has lasted longer. We had to redry our bed sheets for 3 days once. Just resetting over and over. The door randomly locks our clothes in it. We cannot open it. We have to unplug the entire unit, and wait for like 10 minutes, plug it back in and hope to god it works. Ive been complaining about this machine since the day I moved in. It has no upside. The idea of starting your laundry at night and waking up with your work clothes clean and warm is out the window when you have to wake up every two hours to reset it due to an error code. This has been one of the most stressful parts of me and my girlfriends lives the past 6 months. Which says a lot. It’s literally laundry. Take this thing off of the market. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THIS. If this is the first and only time you listen to a review, let it be this one. I have to be up for work in 4 hours. I am exhausted. I can’t sit here playing with this MACHINE when it’s ONLY JOB is to do laundry. Here’s to hoping I wake up to the miracle of dry clothes.

This thing improved our lives!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We put this in a spare closet in our bedroom. The bathroom was on the other side of the wall so it was very easy to install. In the past we had to lug all of our laundry up and down the janky stairs to the basement. Now we just go a few steps across the bedroom. We are living the dream! It is even so quiet I can sleep while it is running. I love this thing.

Learning curve/adjustment period, but overall good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for model WFC682CLW. It works pretty well. It does seem like it could use a better lint trapping system, as others have noted. We use a high efficiency powdered detergent. Unfortuantely, you cannot just fill that up and forget about it for a while like you can with liquid detergent. Additionally, the washer has complained for several loads that there is too much suds. It doesn't look like there is so I'm not sure if that's really the issue or something else. That causes it to do more rinse cycles. I think one load, washed and dried took 6 hours, several have taken 5, most take around 4. It is convenient though, throw a load in in the morning, one early evening, and another when you go to bed and it keeps up fairly well with our family of 4.

Takes too long to wash and dry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Information provided with the appliance was very incomplete...had to call for service just to get it running the first time. Normal load takes around 3 hours to wash and dry. Not satisfied with the appliance at all.

Good Machine, Poorly Written Instruction Manual
on December 12, 2025
Posted by: Frozen Tundra
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine is a wonder of technology. The issue comes with the absolutely abysmally written operation manual which was obviously written by an engineer with zero for common sense. The "buttons" which control the operation of the wash cycles are counter intuitive in operation. One normally would press a button and expect instant operation of the selected function, this machine takes up to 15 seconds before it will begin to perform the selected operation. Further more, holding a button changes it function(s) and the manual is unclear on how to "undo" the newly affected function. The manual also includes "boiler plate" dryer instructions in one paragraph telling the user to "clean the lint filter after every drying cycle", however there is no standard lint filter as with a normal dyer. The WASHER instruction instructs cleaning the "lint filter" once a month. The lint filter is located on the bottom of the machine where the drawer which also holds the "Wash and Go" soap tank is located. The user must take out a small hose (held in with a very flimsy clip which broke the first time the small hose was pulled out), remove a plug and drain the filter before removal else end up with about one cup of water drinking on the floor. Performing the operation requires the user to lie on the floor, not something the 65 plus year old population would much appreciate. The overall operation and usability of the machine is quite good once one figures out to simply "touch" a control button and not "press" or "hold" them. The reality is the machine is a challenge to learn the operation of due to the extremely poorly written instruction manual. The user is really left to figure things out on their own and the "help" numbers listed for Whirlpool are useless as is the web site. Once the operation of the machine is figured out (took us one month and about 10 wash/dry cycles), it is quite functional and does a very good job. The user must also be aware since it is an "All In One" machine, a load of laundry can take over three to almost four hours to complete due to the slower drying process of the ventless dryer. The good news is the clothes seem to be far less wrinkled and the "Air Fresh" function keeps everything dried fluffy and fresh, which is a good thing considering dyer sheets are NOT TO BE USED in the All In One machines. Over all I rate the machine with 5 stars and the manual, help line and web site with 0 stars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Started off great but then started having issues . With the product. Contacted service center having to wait a a while for a tech to get out . Not a great start in the first 30 days of the product. Hopefully it’s a simple glitch or something and gets resolved quickly
