Washing on river rocks is more efficient

This is by far the worst laundry machine I've ever used. That's saying a lot bc I've used washing machines that I had to agitate by hand bc they were broken, but I made it work. Clothes don't get clean, they come out covered in lint and animal hair consistently. Wash and dry time is only correct about 10% of the time, the other 90% the clothes need to run on another dry cycle which takes at least an extra hour. It's rare that a load of clothes is dry at the end of the first wash and dry cycle. It leaks water from under the front drawer. Whirlpool should really make right on this with their customers bc they knew they were selling us junk. I won't trust Whirlpool again after this mess. Six hours for one load of t-shirts is insane and a crazy amount of energy!!!

Are the load items discolored?
Dye transfer can occur when mixing colors in a load.
Are you using HE High-Efficiency detergent?
Always use only HE detergent. Using non-HE detergent or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent can cause excessive suds, which can lead to the washer leaking, draining concerns, and/or poor rinsing performance.
Whirlpool recommends using Swash® Laundry Detergent. It is designed to work in both high-efficiency (HE) and non-HE washing machines. With an 8x concentrated formula, you’ll use about a quarter of the detergent you’d need with a traditional 2x concentration detergent. It may look like a small amount, but you’ll be amazed at its effectiveness.
Are you using the correct cycle and temperature to wash the fabric?
Use a higher soil level cycle option and warmer wash temperature to improve cleaning.
Are you using the correct Detergent Concentration level?
Today’s liquid HE detergents are concentrated. Most brands of concentrated HE detergent will show the level of concentration on the bottle.
However, if the detergent bottle does not give the concentration, it can be easily calculated. Just divide the package size in fluid ounces by the number of loads. Then, refer to the chart below to find the concentration.
Set the concentration level setting on the washer/dryer by using the Tools button. If you do not get your desired cleaning results, set the concentration level to a lower number. If you have excess suds, set the concentration level to a higher concentration number.
NOTE: Concentration Level does not mean the Dispenser will dispense that many doses of HE detergent; it means that the detergent you have purchased is that concentrated, and the dosage will actually be smaller for higher levels of concentration. I.E., the more concentrated the detergent, the "stronger' the cleaning power and the less water in the dosage.
Have you performed the "Clean Washer" cycle, or has the "Clean Washer Cycle Reminder" message flashed?
Clean Washer Cycle Reminder
The Clean Washer with affresh® message will flash at the end of a wash cycle when the washer has run 30 wash cycles. This is a reminder to run the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle. If the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle is not run, the message will stop flashing at the end of a wash cycle after running three more regular wash cycles. After 30 more wash cycles are completed, the Clean Washer with affresh® message will again flash at the end of a wash cycle as a reminder.

Error codes, clogs, no support

0/5. We purchased the Whirlpool WFC682CLW expecting the reliability and quality of a trusted brand, but this washer has been a constant disappointment. From the beginning, we experienced repeated error codes, clogging issues, and excessive noise during operation. These are not problems we should have encountered with a brand-new appliance.
What has been most frustrating is Whirlpool’s failure to make this right. We did not receive the level of support, accountability, or resolution we expected from a company with Whirlpool’s reputation.
We expected a quality product and a company that stood behind it, but unfortunately received neither. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Operations Instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the appliance for about a week and have done two loads of laundry. I'm still learning how to use it because the controls do not respond the way I expect and the instructions manual isn't very clear, so figuring out the correct setting has been a bit of a challenge.
One issue I experienced was with the dry only cycle. The machine flashed end but never actually shot off. Not sure if this was a user error or a problem with the machine.

Too long dry time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very disappointed with the drying time, takes way too long to dry even a small load. I thought this machine had a lint tray in it, it doesn’t , I should have researched it better. The constant cleaning of the door seal and drain pump where the lint collects is very annoying. I have to take my towels to the laundry mat because it takes up to 5 hours to dry 4 towels and washcloths and then they still aren’t dry. I like whirlpool appliances but I would never recommend this machine to anyone.

Horrible

Do not buy. If I could, I would give this machine no stars. I bought two of these machines. The issue is the lint buildup. They need a lint filter in the actual machine. After one use, all clothes were covered lint and many are ruined. I have to vacuum lint out and wash the rubber lip after every use. I keep getting error codes on one machine after using it less than 10 times, causing machine to lock and can't get it open. Just had it repaired today and bottom drain filter was full of lint. This filter has teeth that hold the lint rather than flushing it out the draining hoses, causing the lint to build up very quickly. I shouldn't have to clean this filter out after a couple of loads. A total design flaw. Put a regular lint filter in it and put the drain filter up higher so it's more accessible for the elderly.

Worst thing you can buy

We are now waiting for the tech to come back out for time number 6 might be 7. We have changed one part at a time. Gets stuck on 16 minutes during dry time. Runs until shut off. So clothes are getting ragged from the constant spinning in drum, utility bill can't be any lower since it ran 6 hrs while at work and let's not forgot it gets so hot it might burn the house down around it but hey what's another service call instead of taking it back.
