Paradice™ 16: Missing Grating Disc After Years of Requests

As someone who has been using several Breville appliances, including their food processor, I had high expectations for the Paradice™ 16. Unfortunately, it falls short in one key area: the lack of a grating disc for grating vegetables and cheese. This is a feature that has been requested by many users for years, but it’s still missing in this model.
Without the grating disc, I’m left doing a lot of extra manual work, which really detracts from the convenience that a food processor is supposed to offer. While the Paradice™ 16 performs well in other areas, this omission is a significant oversight, especially for anyone who needs to shred or grate regularly.
Given my positive experiences with Breville products in the past, I’m disappointed that this issue hasn’t been addressed.

Thank you for your comments. The BFP838 does come with a shredder disc, as have many of our older model processors. The shredder disc can be used on both cheese and vegetables. But your comments regarding a grating disc will be passed along your feedback to the appropriate people, as we are continuously trying to improve our customer's experience.

I've had my new Paradice 16 for a couple of weeks now and I am throwing rocks at my old food processor! This thing is a work of art. The engineering that went into it is pretty amazing, including the storage containers for the various blades and dicing plates. It's even easy to clean. I really am happy with my purchase.

Horrible at dicing

I just got this machine only for its dicing feature. I tried onion and about 1/3 got stuck in the dicing blade. Tried a bell pepper and it was about half the pepper again stuck on top of the dicing blade mushed. I can’t believe for the price they charge that this is how it’s supposed to work. And then after it mushes everything into the blade, you spend more time trying to dig out the bits to clean it than you would have just dicing by hand. Avoid this thing. Just get a cheap slap n chop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I loved my KitchenAid food processor that I had had for 10 years. So when I had to replace it, I looked and looked for one. That was the same caliber if not better. I found the Breville paradise 16 and the sous chef 16. There was plenty of differences between the two, but I settled on the paradise 16 because of all the attachments that came with. I really Love this machine I use it daily. I It sits out on my counter. It’s a beautiful piece of machinery that blends effortlessly into my kitchen, but stands out at the same time. The only thing that would make it better Would be to have the peel and dice attachment for it.

When the food processor I loved died, I searched for a new one, researching and reading reviews. A year ago, I wanted the Breville, but ordered a competitor because it was cheaper and had good reviews.I hated it! It was overly complicated and extraordinarily difficult to clean. after a year, I couldn’t stand it. I ordered the Breville Paradice 16. Yes, it is more expensive, But oh my, iit worth it! Everything comes apart, making it so easy to clean. Everything goes together, simply without having to have everything exactly in the perfect position. The design seems to Be by someone who actually cooks and knows what people who cook want. It’s intuitive, well thought out, and sturdy. I would give it 100 stars if I were able. I hate the wasted year and the money wasted on a far inferior product. But, I am very grateful to have found exactly exactly what I was looking for!

In order to simplify my time in the kitchen, I did a tremendous amount of research on purchasing a food processor. We had an Oster Food Processor that was old and ugly. It was stored in a cabinet above the refrigerator and hardly ever brought down for use. My criteria for this purchase was that it had to be something worthy of taking up counter space in order for me to purchase one. I have been a loyal Breville customer and have my countertop filled with their appliances. They are truly a high end kitchen appliance. I'm so glad that I decided to go with their Paradice 16 as I wanted something capable of handling large jobs (making pasta dough, bread, large batches of chopped vegetables, etc.). I absolutely LOVE this machine. It looks so impressive on our countertop. My wife is OCD and doesn't like a lot on her countertops but she quickly made room for this one!!!!! You will not be disappointed!
