Bought this new refrigerator to replace an existing LG French door refrigerator as a precaution because the old one was 12 years old. We felt that a new one now would help us in the event the old one conked out. We are so glad that we bought this unit as it has been updated and is easier to use than the last one.

The capacity of this refrigerator is great. The specs. say you should have 1/4 inch on each side of the refrigerator. My opinion is that you need more. It is very tight and doesn't allow space for air flow around it. We built the refrigerator enclosure based on the specs and wish we had more room. I think LG should update the specs.

Cheap stainless door material?

We’ve had this refrigerator for about 18 months. I recently started noticing small dents on the doors here and there. We’re empty nesters and extremely careful with our appliances. We bought an oven and microwave as well and we’ve not noticed any dents yet. The dents on the fridge are very tiny and not in one place. LG I’d like to know why? How thin is the stainless you are using?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this refrigerator only several weeks ago for our weekend house and cannot give it definitive performance review as yet but can comment on its layout, features, and build quality.
We discovered that this 27 cu. ft. counter depth refrigerator can store so much more than we thought it ever could. At first, we were even convinced that we may have purchased too large of a refrigerator.
We have most all refrigerated items stored in direct view and arranged on the two interior doors. We're trying to organize the shelf interior so that we know where any given item is on a regular basis. We're not there yet. We have purchased clear plastic bins for use in the freezer section to better make orderly use of the space. The ice maker is a little slow but the ice collection box in the freezer is very convenient and doesn't waste space on the door.
I find the inability to determine the actual refrigerator and freezer temperatures annoying and frustrating. The digital set temperature seems inadequate without also showing the actual temperatures.
I had to realign the left door after delivery and installation after initially loaded it with items. The left door would not engage the top track to close the flap seal between the two doors. The instructions and tool provided helped me solve this problem that I felt should not have occurred.
The water filter was easily installed and the interior water dispenser was convenient to use although we only drink spring water which we store in its 2-1/2 gallon dispensing container on one off the adjustable shelves.
The exterior stainless finish is smudge resistant because it seems to have some kind of clearcoat finish over the stainless steel. I, however found two very small defects in that finish which I will live with.
A further comprehensive review of this fridge will be given after a longer term of use has been established.

Good refrigerator horrible water feature

I’ve had this refrigerator for over 2 weeks now. It’s a nice refrigerator BUT. It has the water and ice maker and the water with that filter taste like crap. My tap water tastes better. I bought this because of the ice maker and water Have to tell you I’m sorry I did . For the money I paid for this refrigerator the water should taste good . At this point I can’t even use the water or the ice maker. If I could return this refrigerator at this point I would and buy something else that the water filter works. And can actually use the features. For the money LG charges I would expect everything to work

Not as good as our last LG Refrigerator

This refrigerator is nice but not as good as our last LG refrigerator. We thought we got the same one but this one seems smaller inside. Also the installer scratched the handle and the door with a tool while putting on the handles. We got a replacement handle and now we need a new left side replacement door. We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator and it’s scratched by the installer.
