Fantastic Washer - Has Everything I Looked For

I purchased this washing machine in January and it has been a terrific choice. I spent countless hours comparing different washers, and reading reviews; both good and bad. Needless to say the process is exhausting and confusing overall! This machine won me over with just a couple key features - impeller, soft close lid, faucet and I can pour my detergent directly into the tub; but most importantly, it’s not a smart washer. Technology has its place, but I have to draw the line with my laundry room! So far I have used every setting, water level, and extra - absolutely love it. Thank you Whirlpool!

Love all the features

I bought this washer a year ago and I really like it. My husband is a mason and comes home very dirty, the heavy duty cycle cleans these close really well. The soak cycle is a plus to have for stained clothing that need an extra boost. Just a couple things though, it does make a loud noise when it starts and shifts between cycles and I wish it showed more of the stages of wash, for instance it goes from soak to wash to done it does not show when it’s in rinse or spin cycle which I think is flaw not to have. Other than that I really like this machine my clothes come out very clean and I love the large tub for big loads.

New washer without fabric dispenser.

New washer model WTW5020SW impeller. It does not have a fabric softener dispenser. It does have an option to turn on Fabric Softener in the rinse cycle. During the wash cycle lid locks so you have to watch for the cycle to end and spin out wash water. Then you can PAUSE the washer to load softener, otherwise to goes on and finishes the wash. If you put the softener ball in the beginning of the wash the fabric softener was drained during the wash spin cycle. If you have an answer for this let me know.

I read some of the 3 and 2-star reviews and many people don't like how little water comes into the tub. I was the same and so here is what worked for me: 1) run whites cycle; 2) select the Deep Water option. This allowed PLENTY of water into the tub and provided what I was looking for. Like many machines, products, electronics, whatever...there are a lot of options but one that works best. I would have given 5 stars but (like many other reviewers) I am disappointed with the lack of user documentation included with the unit.

Worst Washer ever

I bought this washer specifically because it is top load, to take full large loads, thought was a good reliable brand. Within 21 months needed repair, something about a faulty control board. Replaced, now at 2.5 years, (4-5 months later) its something about a faulty lid lock and no longer under warranty. RIDICULOUS, a washer that only lasts 2 years, and they would not allow me to purchase an extended warranty after the first repair. They said I had to purchase within 90 days of initial purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No problems and effective washing machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer almost a year ago and am satisfied with the performance. Seems to wash clothes effectively. I do not understand how it works without a agitator but seems ok. Wish the setup had been more informative.
