Cheap base model no bells…literally

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is cheap and weird. It does not beep when a load is finished you just have to listen for the load to stop spinning. It has also stained my close and has no automatic detergent dispenser. When I move I’ll give it away.

Welcome to the Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My faithful 21 year old Whirlpool decided to "retire" earlier this month and I was happy to replace it with another Whirlpool. Will it last as long as the other one? Who knows, but if I'm still doing laundry at 100 years of age, I'll be sure to let everyone know. I LOVE all the options available on my new washer, and especially like the sensor which chooses the amount of water needed to do a load of laundry. It is quiet and all-in-all a very easy appliance to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How do you make a product that is such garbage

Absolute Garbage. fills with water and won’t drain. Has broke twice in the last 3 weeks, with 2 different washers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The hot water is only barely warm.

Washer Out-of-Balance and Loading Tips
An unbalanced load occurs when the laundry is unevenly distributed, typically during the spin cycle. This can result in:
Symptoms: Loud noise, excessive vibration, reduced spin speed, longer cycle times, and wet clothes.
Self-Correction: The washer attempts to self-correct by adding water and rotating to redistribute the load. If it fails, it may display an error message or stop spinning, requiring manual load redistribution.
Key Solutions for Optimal Performance:
Proper Loading:
Place clothing in loose heaps evenly around the agitator/impeller.
Never overload the washer (clothes should be no higher than the top row of wash basket holes).
Avoid adding too much water, as this reduces cleaning action.
Heavy or Bulky Items:
Check the care label to ensure the item is machine washable in a top-load washer.
For highly absorbent items (quilts, blankets), distribute them in a doughnut shape around the impeller.
Wash two or three similar bulky items (like rugs) instead of just one to help balance the load.

Washer Level:

I have had problems with this machine from day 1. Pros: large capacity, see-through top lid, direct laundry detergent dispensing. BIG cons: I can only use bulky items setting for normal because the normal loads leave residue on the clothes and they come out partially dry. The machine leaves lint all over the clothes. I have to hold the play button down so long to start the wash cycle. The fabric softener dispenser gets dirty and smelly quick. Whirlpool doesn’t accept returns, NO MATTER WHAT! My clothes, especially shoes, don’t come out as clean as my old electrilux washer. To sum it up, stay away from this brand. Almost 1 year in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

White residue on clothing can be caused by one or a combination of factors:
Causes:
Interaction of body soils with detergent (common on activewear).
Excessive lint.
Excess detergent.
Using non-high efficiency (HE) detergent in an HE washer.
Detergent build-up in the washer.
Home water quality.
Water temperature being too cold.
Key Solutions and Tips1. Detergent and Water Temperature
Always use the correct amount of HE detergent. Non-HE detergent is not recommended and can cause undissolved "clumps."
Ensure the cold water wash temperature is at least 60°F (15.5°C) to properly dissolve detergent, especially powdered types. Your washer may regulate this by adding some hot water. Running the nearest hot water faucet can help.
Rewashing and using a dryer should remove most clumps of undissolved detergent.
Whirlpool recommends using Swash® Laundry Detergent, which is an 8x concentrated HE formula.
2. Cycle Selection for Soil/Detergent Residue
To reduce residue from the interaction of body soils and detergent (especially on mixed or synthetic fabrics):
Use robust cycles like Heavy Duty, PowerWash, Deep Water Wash, or Whites.
Avoid gentler cycles (Delicates, Casuals, ColorLast).
Use the Extra Power option if available.
Select the extra rinse option.
Select higher soil levels (Extra Heavy) and cooler wash temperatures when acceptable for the fabric.
3. Addressing Excessive Lint
Excessive lint is normal on new items like towels and will dissipate over time.
Use shorter wash times if linting continues.
Using a dryer will help remove most excess lint.
4. Washer Maintenance
Run the "Clean Washer" cycle with a product like affresh® every 30 cycles to help eliminate detergent build-up.
