It's a 14-cup maker, but if you load it for more than 12 cups you get a mess of coffee grounds in an overflow conditions in the pot and throughout the system. I bought this to replace my previous 12-cup of the same, and it worked great for all 12 cups. So, essentially this is practical as a 12 cup. It does that well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like everything about this coffee maker except the lid is hard to get off to give the coffee pot a good cleaning. It comes of but it feels like if you do it too often the plastic will break. Like the heat levels. Medium gives you nice hot coffee.
