This is the 3rd time I have purchased this make of coffee maker. Each one has died about 2 to 3 years into the usage. The problem with the previous ones, is that it would brew only about 1/5 pot and then signal that it was finished. If left on, it would finally finish brewing after almost 2 hours of leaving it on. I could turn off and turn back on multiple times to finish in about 45 minutes to an hour. The heating element to keep the coffee hot was working fine. I'm hoping that this coffeemaker will make it past 3 years before the same thing happens.

Having owned prior 14-cup models of this coffee maker, we are not at all disappointed with the quality of the unit or flavor of the coffee. My only complaint is when we want to keep the unit on after the auto-start programming we have to shut it off completely, usually for 20-40 seconds, before powering it back on. All in all, a great unit.

This is the third Cuisinart coffee make of this model that I have purchased. I find that they normally last about 8-10 years. The first failed when the hot plate went out. The second started leaking out the bottom somewhere. Now I am on the third unit.
I like this model , (obviously). I am comfortable with programing the unit, and I like the coffee produced. One improvement that can be made, ANY power interruption, no matter how short erases all programing. Surely a battery or something could be installed to hold the programing if only for an hour or so?
