Makes great tasting coffee, but has quirks

We just bought this to replace another coffee maker. The good is, it's a great looking machine! We ran an initial pot of just water through, like the directions suggested. When we went to brew a pot the next morning, we noticed an odd, plastic taste to the pot we brewed. That did disappear on the second pot, but maybe run two cycles of water only.
Filling the reservoir is a bit clumsy. Our last brewer we could remove the water reservoir, fill it and replace it without having to fill the pot, our the water (and clean up the spill). So not the most efficient design in that regard.
The coffee tastes great now, but we didn't realize that the Bold brew option has to be pressed Each Time You Brew! The last brewer at least remembered that we wanted bold each pot.
Lastly, the display is BRIGHT! It lights up half the kitchen at night. I only wish there were a way to dim the display.
It's a good machine, it makes great coffee, but it has its quirks.

Love it!! This coffeemaker has been a total game changer for my mornings. It's super easy to use, and I especially love the bold button—perfect for someone like me who enjoys a seriously bold cup of coffee. Being able to program it to start brewing just before I wake up is such a treat (nothing beats waking up to the smell of fresh coffee!).

This is my third Cuisinart Coffee maker of this type in 30 years. I’ve recommended it to many friends. The coffee maker lasts a long time (daily use) and make wonderful coffee until they give up the ghost. I grind my own beans and I love, love my morning java.

This is our second purchase of this coffee maker. I bought one for our lake home and we loved the 14-cup capacity and the quality and consistency of the coffee it brews. So, we bought another one for home. You don't need to do complicated pour over or french press techniques, just buy this machine. The one wish is that the auto shut-off would allow the burner to stay on for 6 hours, or have a selector so you can chose the amount of time to stay on. The current 4 hours is just too short. Fo9r example, if people get up at 6am, the machine is shutting off at 10am. The Bold button is a great feature and is often used as we enjoy a little bit "thicker" brew. Finally, the 14-cup capacity vs the 12 or 10 you typically see, is great when you have 3 or 4 coffee drinkers in the house as we do.
