Very finicky, lid doesn’t close easily and carafe doesn’t fully insert into the pot easily. Having used this coffee maker for less than a month, I have experienced brewing problems at least 4 times now where the water overflows due to the lid not being fully closed or the carafe not being fully inserted. Like my other cousin art reviews - these just aren’t what they used to be. My old 12-cup brewer is still going strong after 10+ years, but sadly my ex wife kept it.

This is our 4th 14 cup programmable coffeemaker. The 1st one was 12 to 15 years ago. It lasted 5 years and did everything it was supposed to. The 2nd one worked well also, but it only lasted about 2 years. The 3rd one lasted 3 days and was returned because it would not drip. The water/grounds overflowed and made a big mess. The 4th (and may I say last) was bought about a month ago and has had problems with the drip function. If the rated amount of grounds and water is added, it will overflow and make a mess. So, instead of 14 cups, we make 12 cups of weaker coffee to keep it from overflowing. This is our last Cuisinart product.

This machine makes good tasting coffee. It is easy to use and operate. However, there are a few design flaws. The first, the lid to the carafe needs to be physically removed to fill it with water. A thumb operated flip top would be SO much easier. This makes filling the carafe with water cumbersome. Second, when you flip the top lid up after coffee is done to remove the filter or make another pot of coffee, water condensed on the inside of the lid runs down the back of the coffee maker onto the counter. Some is caught by a "lip", but this is an obviously messy design flaw.

Everything seems great until use, then coffee grounds everywhere, overflowing basket. Seems the basket and carafe do not meet, therefore no flow from basket into carafe. Call Cuisinart customer service, they were sending replacement parts, have yet to receive them. Heck of a mess cleaning grounds out of the water tank and everywhere else. If the carafe is elevated 3/16" every thing would work. Poor design or poor packaging of parts that go together.

This is a great coffee maker except………. the clock can not keep time accurately. It kept adding 13-16 mins everyday. This minor flaw affects the ability to program it to brew at a set time. Returned it and got another one since it does brew a good cup but only to experience the same problem so it too was returned and I gave up.
