This makes fine coffee. I've had this brand for probably 25 years or more and about every 5-7 years choose to replace it. This model has 2 drawbacks that earlier ones did not have. First, the pot always spills water out when I try to pour the water into the machine if I start with a full pot. Secondly, the machine has to be set every time I want it to auto brew. The earlier models could be set once and as long as you wanted it to brew automatically at the same time of day you didn't have to do anything more.

My family has enjoyed the new coffeemaker. The coffee ready tone is annoyingly loud so we keep it off. Solidly built but too new to post about life span. Time will tell as our last inexpensive Black & Decker lasted 15 months.
