This unit replaced the exact same unit that just stopped working. Old one lasted 7 years , and its used every day. Since we had the extra carafe we stayed with same unit. Easy to use , i enjoy the auto program. Nice to wake up to the smell of coffee. The new unit is making some strange popping /crackling noises that concern me. Will reach out to cuisnart. Its a great nice looking coffee maker

I have been using this coffee maker every day for almost 4 weeks now, and I got it to replace a coffee maker that I had used for over 10 years. There are several features that I really like: even on the medium level of heating, the coffee is very hot, which is great right now in the cold Midwest winter; the coffee is brewed more quickly than my previous coffee maker; the end product tastes delicious and not as bitter. There are a few drawbacks though: the lid for the carafe is kind of difficult to remove, because it snaps and is not hinged; there is no timer that tells you how long the coffee maker has until it turns off, even though the automatic shutoff is programmable; it is kind of difficult to pour the water into the top of the coffee maker because the size of the water opening is small and the size of the carafe is large. Overall, I got this coffee maker on sale, and it is worth what I paid at the sale price.
