It’s easy to use and produces such a smooth tasting cup of coffee every time. It has a few bells and whistles that are available including when to change the charcoal pod and making a stronger brew. It is beautiful to look at and I would definitely purchase this coffee maker again!

I purchased this Coffeemaker recently as my old Cuisinart product had reached it's end. It had been 7-8 years since I bought the last one, so I didn't know what the current models were. I wanted another Cuisinart because of it's quality and chose this one. I just wish it was a 12 Cup instead, as well as would have liked it to be a Stainless Steel Thermal Carafe rather than Glass, but didn't see that Model in my local market. I do like the simple functions of this one and am pleased with it.

Do not buy this model buy the cuisines 1200 p1

Do not buy ! Filter basket is faulty and end up with grounds in coffee. Returned for full refund and purchased a Cuisinart model 1200 p1. The third one over the yrs and the first two gave us good service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A 4 1/2? That's actually where I am. I bought the Cuisinart because it was a). on sale b). a friend's recommendation c). had the features I wanted and d). not a Mr. Coffee, which had lasted less than a year.
In practice, it makes very good coffee and was relatively easy to program. Only the changing the number of hours it stayed on after brewing gave me any issues. However, because it defaults to 3 hours, that was acceptable. Of course, I've only had it about 2 months, so the longevity is yet to be seen.
Its 4-cup format seems to work well, much better than the Mr. Coffee; to be fair, however, the terrible sounds the latter made may have been a precursor of its later death.
The two things that really disappointed me about the Cuisinart were the cone filter and the small spout on the carafe. The cone filters are more expensive and made of heavier paper; hence, they don't compost nearly as well. I liked the wide spout on the Mr. Coffee so well that I am now using it rather than the Cuisinart.
Were it not for those two things, the Cuisinart 14-cup Coffeemaker would have a solid 5 stars. I realize they're just personal preference, but they are a consideration in any comparison.
