Always brews an excellent pot of coffee. We love to make our coffee on the bold setting. It has 3 heat settings to keep the carafe hot and has a timer to set the amount of time to stay on and it’s easy to use not to mention that it’s a beautiful unit too.

We received this coffeemaker as a gift. We have had a Mr Coffee 12 cup for years and it still works fine. But some friends know that we love our coffee in the morning and thought we we should have a more upscale brand, The Cuisinart is that. I thought it might have some different freatures, but as far as I can tell it is exactly the same except for the conical vs basket shaped filter. We do not use a paper filter and had a permanent filter in the Mr Coffee too. We use the delay or scheduled brew feature every day so that the coffee is ready or brewing when we get up. One thing I have noticed is that there is a sort of oily someting on the top of the coffee that is not on the Mr Coffee brewed coffee. I made two batches side by side the other day to confirm this and I think the Cuisinart is faster and I think the water comes through a little hotter OR the conical vs flat bottom shapped basket might be the reason, but I cannot taste an difference. We like dark blends and use the Bold Brew cycle, usually make six or eight cups with 10 grams of coffee per 5 ounce cup.
So, bottom line is it better . . . it's prettier!

This is our third purchase over the past 20 plus years of this particular coffee maker. Previous coffee makers have been handed down to kids or put in our camper. Super reliable, classic look with small updates over the years, and easy setup the night before to wake up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee.

There are few alternatives for large capacity drip coffee makers. I have been extremely disappointed in the longevity of Cuisinart coffeemakers. My most recent 14-cup model lasted only a few years. It is such a waste that these are made so poorly that they end up in a landfill so often! But, when they work, they make a good cup of coffee and in quantity that is helpful when my whole family is home.
