Good coffeemaker with a couple of minor flaws!

Maker works great as far as making coffee goes but there are a couple of design flaws. The water pot has an inner lip that prevents easy and complete emptying of water and or coffee from the pot. Another design flaw is when the lid is open it only extends 90 degrees so it is difficult to empty the pot.

This is my second replacement under the warranty. The original one that I bought had a failure of the hot plate. Fortunately, it was under warranty and they sent me a new one. The original coffee brewer had some weight to it, butI noticed right away that the new one was much lighter than the old coffee brewer. The reason for that, is that they obviously replaced the defective hot plates with one that wasn’t as substantial thus making the coffee brewer itself, much lighter. The hot plate, (which is at the bottom of the brewer) had some weight to it, and thus gave it a solid footing on the countertop. This new one was so cheap and light in weight, it caused the brewer to glide across the countertop with very little effort if you pushed on it. Now, this new hot plate does not heat the coffee enough even on “high”mode. If you have the hot plate set on “high”, your coffee will be hot when you first pour it , but just for a very short time before it ultimately cools down to room temperature in your cup after pouring it. Don’t know why they did this. Is this potentially because of lawsuits from excessively hot coffee being spilled on someone? Not sure, but there is no doubt that they got a new supplier for the hot plate component and it is not heating the coffee like the original ones made several years ago.

I wanted something to replace my Wolfgang Puck coffeemaker and this one looked like it was the closest to what I had. I'm really glad I made this purchase. It has some additional features that my previous copymaker did not. I've always known of the Cuisinart name and was glad I made this purchase.

I love the larger capacity, as we have five coffee drinkers in the home! The option to change the temp and the sound telling me when it's done and when the warmer plate goes off is very convenient on busy mornings. Overall, programmability, ease of use, oh! And the water filter! All good things!

Love the coffeemaker. We replaced same model that was 12 or more years old but required the Clean cycle every other pot. Haha. Frustrating that this new one drips every time we pour a cup. The old one did not drip from the spout of the pot. All in all I would recommend it. Just keep a rag or paper towel handy when pouring.
