Based on the review from Consumer Reports, we chose this model to retire our Mr. Coffee, coffee maker, and bring the older functioning unit to a summer home. And enjoy our upgraded Cuisinart unit - what we thought was a frivolous gift to us - at home. Using the same grind we have been using for the last year, it struck both of us immediately upon sipping the coffee out of this new unit, how wonderful it was! With expletives that I will not repeat here. It’s like we started enjoying coffee all over again. It was that obvious.

We had the same model for about 10 years and were satisfied with the coffee maker except for 2 points. We thought it was difficult to pour water into the machine from the pot and the water sprayer into the grounds didn't seem to be wide enough to adequately cover the coffee container. The Cuisinart designers must have been listening because the new machine has fixed our two concerns. Great coffee maker and we hope this one lasts as long as our last one.
