This is a very nice coffee maker! For once in all of the coffee maker's we've owned...the water tank and carafe measurements are the same. Nice looking stainless steel appliance that seems sturdy and well made. No unnecessary drips from the carafe when filling your cup and the coffee brews great. A bit of a switch from the corrugated filter liners to the conical style, but really no different...except for maybe cost of filters may be more. So far we like this coffee maker...but will it stand the test of time. We brew at least once a day and use filtered well water. So we shall see!!

Very nice coffee maker with a few flaws. I am on my third one, the first lasted about 4 - 5 years and finally rusted away. yes, the bottom part is made of metal and due to the fact that water leaks from the pot as you try and fill the reservoir, the thing ultimately rusted...which brings me to problem #2. Every one the three that I had, you couldn't fill the reservoir without getting water all over the counter if you just poured a hair off to the right or left. The reason I'm on my third one? The second one stopped working after two weeks...electrical issues, push the button and nothing happens, so it was replaced under warranty. FYI, they have the same coffee maker on Two and a Half Men.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There appears to be a slight design flaw with the lid. As you pour, it leaks out onto the counter from the right side, unless you tip it much further to the left. Holding it straight, will yield a puddle on the counter.

This is the 3rd Cuisinart Coffee Maker that we have purchased over the years. This particular model makes a great cup of coffee! I doubt if we ever buy another brand.
