I bought this microwave to replace a comparable GE model because it was one of very few options that fit the recessed space in my cabinet. Too bad it wasn’t identical. The controls are so dim that I need a flashlight to read them, and the door latch requires a lot more force than the latch on my previous machine. Also, I’m still trying to figure out why this one costs so much more than other microwaves. Exactly what extra features did I pay for? If any …
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We would like to provide clarity on the door latch of your microwave and some information on the pricing of our products. It is normal to notice the door of your new microwave is harder to close than your previous model. This is due to a firmer spring in the door latch. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension from the spring. This is normal.
Pricing is dependent on several factors like features, usability (cosmetic vs. functional), and distribution to name a few. This model features convection cooking, so you can bake and broil inside the microwave. It also features a warming mode, sensor cooking controls, and is WiFi capable - so you can manage your microwave from your smart phone.
As we continue to make improvements to our appliances, your feedback is extremely important to us. We will pass these comments along to our product team to review.

I purchased the microwave in early March. There is a safety feature that requires the operator to stop the cooking/reheating option prior to opening. It would be good if I had small children, otherwise is annoying.
This is my third microwave convection oven. They have all been identical except the first two were under the Cafe name and this is called GE Profile. I am on my third one because I had door problems with my first oven - moisture in the door. The door had to be replaced twice and then the whole oven had to be replaced as they were unable to get a suitable door. The second oven quit after 4 years but I liked it enough to replace with the same model so that it would fit in the cabinet. My brand new oven,, less than a month old now has moisture in the door and I am waiting for a new door. I hate the racks as they are too small for the plate they sit on and are dangerous as they move around. I wish the oven went to 450 degrees. I would not have purchased this oven without the GE warranty as they are good with fixing it when necessary.
Love the microwave, just make sure the turntable wheels under the turntable plate are not upside down. If you hear squealing when in use, they are upside down. We found this out just today.
