Would not buy again

We purchased the microwave in 2020. By 2022, we had to replace the motherboard because the buttons and display stopped working (work was done by GE). By 2025, the motherboard started going bad again and not all the buttons or display lights work. This time GE says they no longer service this problem so now I have to either buy a new microwave or find someone else who can fix it. Would not buy this product again!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand that you've recently been in contact with a member of our team. We recommend continuing to work with us directly.
As many of the other 1 star reviews noted, after a very short time, the panel completely went out. It started with the turntable rotating the moment we would open it, then it stopped heating all together. Then finally the entire panel stopped working. It has nothing to do with a circuit or breaker. It is a very poorly designed and made microwave oven. Not at all worth the price.

To resolve the issue you're experiencing with your microwave, please make an appointment with one of our Bodewell technicians, by calling 1-833-4BODEWELL or visit this site: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service.
It's a microwave. Does the job, but not worth the money. Wish we hadn't needed a built in. The actual inside space is okay, but kinda small. A 9×9 covered dish is about the largest cooking dish it can handle.
No instructions on how to connect to WiFi. Don’t like the exposed heating element = how to clean? Hard to open. Plastic covered touchpad may get damaged over time. No receipt provided.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to assist with connecting your microwave to WiFi and provide information on the door operation. You can find information on connecting your microwave to WiFi here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=37348. If you're still unable to connect to WiFi, please contact our Connected Home Support Line at 1-800-220-6899, Monday - Friday 9am - 9pm EST, Saturday 9am - 3pm EST, or email connected@help.geappliances.com. It's best to open the door by pressing the center of door latch release. When pressing in areas off center and further from the center, the door latch is more difficult to operate. This is normal operation for the microwave. You can find information on properly cleaning your microwave on pages 20-21 of the owner's manual here: https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--PMXptpGl--/1d3242d9c2c884b818ffa4ba7d0d1daf514ece62.pdf. For assistance with your purchase receipt, please reach out to the retailer’s customer service team directly.
I had this model from 2020 and the buttons and digital display was going out around 2023. Finally the buttons stopped working May 2026 and now looking to replace.

The microwave works fine but the lock feature on the door is super annoying.

We want to help you with your microwave lock feature. Countertop microwaves now have a two-step child lock safety feature for opening the door while the microwave is running. The door automatically locks during a cooking cycle. This means you'll need to pause the cycle before opening the door to check for doneness or to stir your food. After the cooking cycle is complete and you have opened the door, the door stays unlocked until the next cooking cycle.
This is a safety feature to minimize accidental door openings while foods and liquids are being heated. You can turn off the two-step safety feature, if you don't have small children and don't feel that you need it.
Opening the Child Resistant Door Follow the 2-step process below to open the door while cooking.
Step 1: Press either Start/Pause or Cancel/Off. Models with a Lock pad, press and hold Lock instead. Step 2: Press the door latch release "push" button to open the door.
Note: The door will stay unlocked until the next cooking cycle.
Please review page 12 in your manual to view how to disable the lock feature. https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--PMXptpGl--/1d3242d9c2c884b818ffa4ba7d0d1daf514ece62.pdf?_gl=1*e43j29*_ga*MTU5NTgxOTguMTc3NTg0Njk1NA..*_ga_QEC75X7XEX*czE3NzYyNjQxMDMkbzEzJGcwJHQxNzc2MjY0MTA0JGo1OSRsMCRoMzcxNzQwMTEz*_fplc*SjVrSWhybUtxcmJ2aVE1cTVUV1JJNmFmSVdVUWR3UUxORTJzTWlNNjdHb3pIa2ZGM01rZjkzT2lhcXJJYXc0ZmU2R0tObFBoMVo3SU81UVEzcnlzMTgyODdwZUVCcVJ3RCUyQiUyQjEwZ1hpaDIzOHVSeEtSbGhqRUtHMTBDUkg2QSUzRCUzRA..
This is the second GE Profile we have had in 3 years, 2 different homes. We purchased this one intentionally because we loved the first one we had. The first one we had replaced a Bosc and it was a far better microwave.
