Microwave works well except I HATE the automatic door lock. When the microwave time stops the door should just unlock. Having to manually press Cancel/ Door Unlock is driving me crazy.

The Microwave seems to work well. A little different than our last 18-year-old GE Profile Microwave. Looking forward to learning more of what it can be used to cook in.
Replaced a similar unit but surprisingly the new unit does not have an automatic reheat selection.

I bought a G.E. convention microwave oven. It died just after 17 months of use. We are a family of two senior citizens with low use of the unit. At the time of its demise, we were waiting for the second door replacement for failure of the moisture seal. G.E. service was called about the unit only lasting for 17 months and was told that we should have bought an extended warranty. I do not recommend buying this unit.

I bought this microwave to replace a comparable GE model because it was one of very few options that fit the recessed space in my cabinet. Too bad it wasn’t identical. The controls are so dim that I need a flashlight to read them, and the door latch requires a lot more force than the latch on my previous machine. Also, I’m still trying to figure out why this one costs so much more than other microwaves. Exactly what extra features did I pay for? If any …

We would like to provide clarity on the door latch of your microwave and some information on the pricing of our products. It is normal to notice the door of your new microwave is harder to close than your previous model. This is due to a firmer spring in the door latch. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension from the spring. This is normal.
Pricing is dependent on several factors like features, usability (cosmetic vs. functional), and distribution to name a few. This model features convection cooking, so you can bake and broil inside the microwave. It also features a warming mode, sensor cooking controls, and is WiFi capable - so you can manage your microwave from your smart phone.
As we continue to make improvements to our appliances, your feedback is extremely important to us. We will pass these comments along to our product team to review.
