I absolutely love this product! It makes life so much easier when it comes to making sure our four baby has the (controlled) independence to use the backyard as necessary. It works flawlessly and he has already figured out how to get in and out (using the remote on his collar).
The installation requires some DIY skills, but the video and written instructions are very helpful and thorough.
I highly recommend this product!

Great doggie door

Easy to install and makes dog potty breaks a breeze

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After researching and reading reviews for various smart pet doors, I decided to purchase the PetSafe® SmartDoor™ Connected Pet Door, Large for use with our rescue dog. I really liked how this smart pet door looked, and that it never rusts and can e controlled with the My PetSafe App, so it could be accessed at home, at the office, or away from home. The PetSafe® SmartDoor™ Connected Pet Door, Large comes with one pet door key, and requires 4-D cel batteries. Installation is easy to do and includes access to a video that will help guide your installation with proper measuring, training resources, and step by step installation of this pet door. This past weekend I installed this pet door for our dog, and had it worked in under a couple hours. It did take some getting used to with our dog, but come Monday morning, she was standing at the door waiting for the pet door to open for her to run out into the backyard to do her business, and come back in.
I really like the convenience of this smart pet door, as I don't have to get up all the time just to let her out back. She will bark at the door letting us know she has to go out, and I can open the door remotely through the My PetSafe app on my phone. I can even set up daily schedules through the app, which comes in very handy when our dog is ready to go out at 6AM and I either getting in/out of the shower, and not needing to run downstairs to let her in and out.
Even though this pet door is installed for our dog, I am finding that our cat is even enjoying run out in the backyard to join her furry sister for some fun and sun.
If you are looking for an easy to install smart pet door, I highly recommend you check out the PetSafe® SmartDoor™ Connected Pet Door, Large. It was a smart investment for us, and one that the dog and our family are benefiting from, as it makes letting the dog out so much easier.

Great door for our cats!

Our cats like their freedom and we don’t like to open the door every 2 minutes haha so this was perfect for us! One of our favorite features is the possibility to lock and unlock the door with our phones and the notifications every time they go in and out. It comes with a key and the door only opens when it detects the key.
We followed the instructions to install and it was very smooth and it helped so much. It takes some skills but after watching the video and reading the instructions well, it should be an easy process.
I also love how nice and aesthetically pleasing the door is which would match pretty much any decor you have in your house.
I’d definitely recommend this product. Great investment and your pets will love their freedom.

Very cool pet door!

We only have 1 dog, a Dachshund that's a mix of standard and mini so she's about 30 pounds, a chonky girl but she fits through this medium door with ease. Installing it was relatively easy, but you do need to have some tools, most things you may already have at home but you also need a jigsaw and a drill. Our door is all wood so this kit was all we needed, nothing more to buy. If you have a metal or glass door you'll have to buy the adapter kit. This kit came with 1 dog tag "key", we only have 1 dog at this time so that's all we need but you can purchase more tags separately if you need more. We had no trouble pairing the tag with the pet door, and our dog took to it very quickly. She has used a pet door in the past though. We used treats to get her to walk through it for the first day and she got used to having it on the door real quick. It's not very noisy, it doesn't or frighten her, the weight of the flap doesn't bother her at all. She zooms right though it. She LOVES the freedom to go out anytime she wants, whether I feel like it or not. I love that I can lock it when I need to to keep her inside during storms or holidays where there will be fireworks. And I can lock it remotely from my phone, I love that. You need a 2.4 ghz router for this to connect to. We have a dual band router but connected it to the 2.4 ghz band and it has no trouble staying connected to wifi. This medium door uses 4 C batteries. You CAN plug it into your wall socket, but they do not include the wall plug, you will have to buy that separately. We like the batteries. There will be a very thorough installation and use guide included, a wall mount template to tell you where to drill and cut, and a training guide that goes over how to acclimate your pet to the door. We have had a very smooth, pleasant experience with this connected pet door so far, no complaints! We definitely recommend it.

Pretty great door

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation was easy. The cat doesn't seem to mind it either. This door has a lot of bells and whistles. It connected to my wifi without and issues, and it's nice being able to monitor/control the door through the app.

The installation is very tricky and I definitely recommend having someone familiar with power tools do it. But now that it’s done, it’s a game changer. Totally worth it!
